What does my IP address actually reveal?
Your internet provider, your country, and an approximate location. It reveals neither your street address nor your identity. Your provider can link the address to your account, and does so on legal request.
Why does my address change?
Most residential accounts get a dynamic address, reassigned periodically. A VPN, a corporate proxy or a mobile network give you another one again. The address shown is the one the server sees, not the one your device uses on your local network.
What is the rest of the information for?
Diagnosis. The HTTP version tells you whether your connection benefits from HTTP/3, the TLS version whether encryption is current, and the data centre shows which point of presence serves you — which explains much of your latency. These are the first things to check when a site is slow for some visitors and fast for others.
